On the heels of Il Divo’s recent 15th anniversary album announcement, the iconic group confirms the U.S. leg of their global Timeless Tour.
The group will bring their epic show to the states following their run throughout Europe, Asia, Africa, Austrailia and Mexico this summer and fall. Fans can expect incredible performances from the new album Timeless as well as hits from Il Divo’s vast catalog of songs, paired with a breathtaking production that will include dancers, acrobats and much more.
Discovered and mentored by Simon Cowell 15 years ago, Il Divo has evolved into the pre-eminent tenor powerhouse vocal group with four sold-out world tours to date, over 30 million albums sold, 160 gold and platinum albums in 33 countries to their credit and were the first Classical Crossover artists to have an album debut at #1 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart.
As previously announced, in celebration of their 15th anniversary Il Divo(original members Spain’s Carlos Marin, Switzerland’s Urs Buhler, France’sSebastien Izambard and America’s David Miller) will release their 7th album, Timeless, on August 10th, marking their first recording for Decca Gold, an imprint of Universal’s Verve Label Group.
Joined by Simon Cowell in 2003, Urs Buhler, Sebastien Izambard, Carlos Marin and David Miller, pioneered an entirely new musical genre when they released their groundbreaking debut album in 2004. Since then, the group of four international members has achieved success without comparison in the whole world, with more than 30 million discs sold, 50 discs No.1, 160 recognitions of Gold and Platinum in more than 33 countries and four world tours with all tickets sold.
Il Divo have released seven albums to date. After the debut album that bears his name (and whose sales earned them the Platinum album), his later albums – Ancora (2005), Siempre (2006), The Promise (2008) and Wicked Game (2011) – have developed the successful combination of virtuosity and popularity of the group. With their recording of 2013, A Musical Affair, they celebrated the classics of Broadway and The West End. In 2015 they released “Amor y Pasion” compiling the best Hispanic songs, debuting in the first week at number 1 of the Latin Albums Chart, with 5 thousand copies sold in America in the first week, according to the Billboard magazine.
